出來混,總是要還的⋯⋯ 上一集讓王國任跳了KPOP,這一集就是我要來面對自己的坎。
Back in 2006, I got the chance to have my locking debut in our first NTUPDC performance as alumni. Then I got really excited and perhaps a bit too ambitious that I ended up injuring my knee in a rehearsal and had to pull out from the number.
It's a common regret scenario most performers are familiar with. But on top of that, locking has always been one of the dance styles I enjoy watching the most and wish I had spent more time on. This simple yet groovy number was one of my personal favourite choreos to dance in from that "trying to be advance and thinking too much phase." AND, it was choreographed by two of my favourite people/fellow dancers at the time (miss you, JJ!)
So when we were looking for things to work on that would not only challenge us back to shape while bringing us joy for the Rusty Ass Project duing COVID time, me relearning this routine from one of its original choreographers seemed to make a lot of sense from all angles.
DOESN'T MAKE IT EASIER THOUGH!!! As you could probably tell from watching lol
Even though one key point of Rusty Ass was for us to take turns facing each other's "uncomfortable zones" and after pushing Kris to learn KPOP I was ready for my own embarrassment, I was still shocked by my condition in the beginning. But then it also made me prouder in the end — definitely not a locker yet, but that was some solid drill sessions with visible results and it was hella fun...and I freakin miss those sweaty group days.
This is probably why ensemble work always have a special place in my heart.
希望一點點對青春熱血的懷念帶給你的是微笑心暖多於感嘆
有些東西過了就過了但是有些東西永遠不遲
回台灣之後...約起來否?
Anyway, 僅以此記念—
