Assassin's Creed Mirage - My Voice Is Officially Cooler Than Me

Somewhere in 2022, I booked a mysterious videogame voiceover contract with Ubisoft, under a blanket on a couch in my friend Cayla's living room. Then I had a delightful recording session, when I realized it's for one of the upcoming Assassin's Creed games. As an actor, action is a dream genre I rarely get cast in - and Assasin's Creed, as far as I'm concerned, is as "action" as it gets. Kris, on the other hand, has been playing every entry of Assassin's Creed since the first one. Needless to say, the anticipation has been high.

And it is out now!!!

Judging from the detailed backstory I was given, and a few hints from the actual material I recorded, we already had a sense that my character might be quite instrumental to the main plot - but she turns out to be not only one of the five main targets the protagonist has to assassinate in the game, but also a total badass lady!

Friends, let me introduce to you - Ning from Assassin's Creed: Mirage, a Chinese merchant and collector based in Baghdad. Born in the Tang Dynasty in China (my favourite ancient dynasty!) then sold away from her birthland to repay the family debt, she joined the Ivory Coin as a merchant then rised up the ranks to became the head of the organization. She later moved to Baghdad in the Abbasid Caliphate and became part of the Order of the Ancients. Using her power in the Order, she controlled the trade industry of the city from her seat of power in The Bazaar in Karkh, where she was known as The Treasurer. (Source: Assassin's Creed Wiki)
